Description: The liqueur is crafted through a dual-processing method:
The Sage Component (Distillation) unlike purely macerated liqueurs, the herbal structure of premium Salvia e Limone relies on distillation. Sourcing: Fresh, aromatic sage leaves (Salvia officinalis) are harvested, often from northern Italian microclimates. The Process: The sage leaves are placed into a still with a neutral grain spirit. Heat is applied to vaporize and condense the alcohol, extracting the volatile, peppery, and earthy essential oils from the plant without drawing out heavy, excessively swampy bitterness.
The Lemon Component (Infusion) the bright citrus element is created through a cold maceration process identical to making authentic Italian limoncello. Zesting: Fresh, ripe, un-waxed Italian lemon peels are carefully separated from the fruit. Workers or precision machinery shave only the bright yellow flavedo layer, entirely avoiding the white pith, which would spoil the liqueur with sharp, unpleasant bitterness. Steeping: These oil-rich skins are submerged directly into neutral grain spirit for several days to weeks. The alcohol strips the natural pigments and citrus essential oils from the peels, turning the liquid a vibrant hue.
Blending and Balancing combining: The crystal-clear sage distillate and the intensely aromatic lemon infusion are blended together. Sweetening & Dilution: A simple syrup consisting of purified water and granulated sugar is added. T
